Description
Giant weeds are characterized by their rapid, aggressive growth, reaching significant heights and widths with large, lobed leaves. Giant hogweed has a stout, hollow, purple-blotched stem with coarse hairs and produces large, umbrella-like white flower clusters. Giant ragweed features deeply lobed, opposite leaves and grows with dense, upright flower clusters that become brown seed heads. Both have extensive root systems and produce numerous seeds, allowing them to outcompete other plants and spread long distances.
